Topics of Bachelor and Diploma Theses
Employes of the department participate in the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students as supervisors of their bachelor's, diploma and doctoral theses. Topics cover wide interdisciplinary field including organic chemistry and chemistry of natural products, as well as biology od plant and animal systems with with a strong emphasis on the connection with modern techniques and biotechnologies applied in common life. Qualification theses at the department are suitable for all fields in which education from biology and chemistry combines (organic chemistry, applied chemistry, experimental biology, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, biotechnology and genetic engineering, bioorganic chemistry, chemical biology, biology and ecology), but also, for example, from physics (biophysics, molecular biophysics). After completing the qualification work, students should be able to independently solve problems related to preparation of new organic compounds, natural substances, study their properties, to analyze their relationship between structure and biological activity and get insight into research of biologically active substances that may have biotechnological, environmental or economic benefit in common life.
The selection of theses supervised by members of the department in the last 3 years below can serve as a guide for students in choosing their supervisor and topic. The full texts of the defended theses are available on request from the supervisor, via the IS / STAG UP information system or in the theses.cz database.
