ISIAME Material Testing Standardization Committee

International Symposium on the Industrial Applications of the Mössbauer Effect

The creation of the ISIAME MTS Committee (MTSC) is in line with one of the fundamental objectives of the ISIAME movement - to stimulate contacts between industry and academia. The MTSC is obliged to report its activities to the ISIAME SEC.

The objectives of the Committee are:

  1. To ascertain and survey the areas within the industry where accurate Mössbauer quantitative analysis can be provided and where the standardization of measurements and processes can be most readily implemented.
  2. To define and develop a set of expectations and requirements that the standardizing Mössbauer analytical procedure must satisfy.
  3. To facilitate the development of standardized Mössbauer analytical procedures and measurements based on validated standards, as well as the creation of measuring equipment applicable to a given task, in collaboration with Mössbauer laboratories and equipment producers.
  4. To assess the alignment of Mössbauer analytical procedures with the criteria for standardization.
  5. To advocate for the acceptance of Mössbauer analytical procedures proposed by MTSC by national and international standards offices, and subsequently by the IUPAC.
