Formally closing studies before SZZ / defense
We would like to notify students who plan to take Final state examination or defend their thesis in May / June 2018, to close their studies at the Study department at least three weeks prior to the date of the exam or defense.

Graduation ceremony of Bachelor and Master Degree programs
Graduation ceremony of Bachelor and Master Degree programs will take place from June 25-29. We ask students to inform the Study department if they wish to participate as soon as possible.

Student teacher training
Continuous teacher training of students of the 2nd follow-up and parallel complementary studies of teaching will be held from September 24 to October 12. Registered students will be placed at schools in Olomouc, Šternberk, Přerov, Uničov and Litovel. Students do not need to apply on their own at these schools. They should only state in the application, which school in Olomouc region they would like to teach. Students wishing to do the training in another region must arrange it for themselves. At the same time, they must ask the school principal for permission. Please submit your application by September 3 at cpp.upol.cz. Recognition of subjects from the pedagogical minimum (lifelong learning)
We would like to notify students of the follow-up single-subject studies who have completed the pedagogical minimum in their main studies, and in this academic year they will graduate, of the necessity of transferring subjects of the pedagogical minimum from the full-time study to life-long education. You can apply for the transfer of courses via classical application (download form on the FS website) - not in the form of an electronic application. Send the application to the study department to Ms. Karásková.

Doctoral studies
Graduation ceremony of Doctoral studies will take place on May 31. Students will be informed of the exact time and place.

Evaluations by Doctoral students
We ask students of doctoral study programs to submit their evaluations for academic year 2017/2018 by June 30. The evaluation must be signed by the student and his/her supervisor and must include the supervisor's written opinion on whether or not he recommends promotion to the next grade. Even after submitting the evaluation, students can complete the courses they had registered in STAG by September 6. After this date, conditions for promotion to the next year will be checked. Students of fourth and higher years will also submit an application for extension of their studies. The application must also include the statement and signature of the supervisor.

Student's evaluations of courses
Students of the Faculty of Science may evaluate completed subjects by June 30. Evaluations can be filled in on s.upol.cz/eval or via cellphone app evUPOL, available on Google Play (Android) or in AppStore (iOS). We ask teachers to inform their students of such possibility.

Credit books
We would like to remind students that since the beginning of this academic year the paper credit books were cancelled for students of all years. Grades are entered only into STAG.

Diploma thesis competition
All graduates of Bachelor and Master Degree programe from Autumn 2017 and Spring 2018 can participate in the 16th year of the Environmental and Ecology Diploma thesis competition in South Moravian Region, which is organized by Lipka - a school for environmental education together with the South Moravian Region. Graduates can win up to CZK 10,000, have their thesis published in the proceedings and gain interdisciplinary contacts. The deadline for submitting thesis is June 30th. New category of state insurees
A new Act on State Social Support No. 200/2017 Coll. introduces a new category of state insurees effective since January 1, 2018. This category regards persons aged over 26 who study for the first time in a doctoral study program carried out by a higher education institution in the Czech Republic at standard time in the full-time form of study unless they are employed or self-employed persons under § 5; for the purposes of this paragraph, the calendar month in which the person completes the study is also considered to be the duration of that study. The insuree (doctoral student) has to notify the relevant health insurance company for registration in the newly introduced category, by means of a form: List of evidence of the insured person and category "D" - Ph.D. student. However, they must not be employed or self-employed.

Research stays in Germany
The German Federal Foundation for the Environment - DBU offers scholarships for research stays in the Federal Republic of Germany to young researchers in the field of environmental studies up to three years after graduation. Applicants can choose an institute themselves or it may be provided by DBU according to the applicant's professional interest. Ignaz L. Lieben Award
The Austrian Academy of Sciences announces another year of the Ignaz L. Lieben Award for young scientists from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. and have excellent results in the field of molecular biology, chemistry or physics and are under the age of 40. Applications can be sent by May 31. Lecture on Genetics of storage proteins and their use in cereals
On Wednesday, May 23 at 1:00 pm, we invite all who are interested in the field of biological sciences called Genetics of storage proteins and their use in cereals. The lecture will be held by Tomáš Vyhnánek, Ph. D. of Mendel University in Brno in the board room of building D (VÚRV) of the Holice campus.
