CES – Central Contract Register

We would like to inform all solvers of ongoing and new projects that from June 1, 2022, the CES system is updated in connection with the new standards. The CES environment was expanded with new functions and changed the existing procedures for filling in accompanying documents, so-called “košilky” of contracts or amendments. All “košilky” are now filled in directly in the Portal (i.e. in the ‘Contracts’ tile).

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR)

Czech Science Foundation: Call for submission of Polish-Czech projects

The Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) announces a call for submission of projects based on the Lead Agency evaluation principle with the expected start of solution in 2024. The call concerns projects financed in cooperation with the Polish agency National Science Center (NCN) as part of the Weave initiative. The Czech part of the application can be submitted no later than December 22, 2022, i.e. within 7 days after the official deadline of December 15, 2022 (until 16:00), which was set for Polish applicants by the NCN agency.

The rules for submitting project proposals and the affidavit form to prove eligibility can be found below in the appendix or in this link (in Czech).

Nominate candidates for the František Palacký Prize

Palacký University in Olomouc usually awards the František Palacký Prize once every two years. It honours personalities who have achieved outstanding results in the field of science or culture, thus contributing to the prestige of the Czech Republic and Palacký University in Olomouc. Nominate your candidate this year! He/she should be a prominent Czech or foreign personality from any scientific field or from any field of cultural activity. Send your proposals by October 15, 2022 to prorektorkaVaV@upol.cz; a short justification must be included in the proposal. More details here (in Czech).

The meeting of the Academic Senate FS UP will take place on October 26, 2022 at 13:00 in the big meeting room of the Dean's Office. Detailed information and materials are published on the senate website (in Czech).

Individual study plan of the doctoral students

Students in the first year of the doctoral study programmes have to submit their individual study plan by September 30, 2022 to their Student Affairs Officer. The plan has to be signed by the student, his/her supervisor and the chairman of the Subject-area Board. At the same time, students must enter the dissertation topic in STAG.

Doctoral students can use the benefits of ISIC and the employee card

Students who are also employees have the option of having a chipless employee card issued to them. The existing ISIC will therefore continue to be used in canteens, libraries or for entrances to buildings, while the new chipless card will be used for benefits and discounts from partners. UP Crowd

The UP Crowd student association is preparing several activities not only for incoming first-year students. We also cordially invite you to the Friday's Researchers' Night and to the UP Crowd meeting on Thursday (October 6, 2022) in the Osa cocktail bar, when the leadership of the association will be elected.

From October 1, 2022, the new application for domestic travel orders comes into force.

Experience the Researchers's Night with all your senses

Our body perceives the five basic human senses, namely hearing, touch, sight, taste and smell. Thanks to them, we learn to perceive and recognize everything around us. With all the senses is the theme of this year's Researchers' Night on Friday, September 30, 2022. Check out the program and come to the Faculty of Science between 17:00 and midnight. All kinds of tastings, experiments, riddles, puzzles and meetings await you. Other university facilities will also be open, including the Fort Science for a reduced entrance fee.

Academic Sport Centre

Cold and autumn full moon? Fortunately, the Academic Fitness gym and sauna (in Czech) open at the beginning of the semester, and a variety of semester-long sports and exercise courses begin under the heading of the Academic Sport Centre (ASC). The offer includes group lessons (yoga, gymballs, dances, zumba, tabata, self-defense), indoor sports (floorball, volleyball, basketball, badminton), canoeing, archery or jiu-jitsu – as well as long-term regular courses (tennis, horse riding, swimming). Students and employees of the Palacký University have a discount on ASC UP activities.

Board games

Playing board games at the Faculty of Science continues in the fall! Come and play modern board games every Tuesday and Thursday from 16:30 in the classroom 1.037. There are around 200 games available on site, and if you can't find one, you can also ask for the home stock of the regular game meeting participants, or bring your favourite game yourself and teach it to others.
