MK – NAKI III Programme to support applied research in the field of national and cultural identity 2023 – 2030

Call details:

• Project proposal (including the “zelená košilka” form and brief information about the project) for the approval of the faculty management (Dean, Secretary) must be submitted to the Department of Project Support (3905) by April 14, 2022. Detailed instructions, including forms, can be found in the project administration manual (in Czech).
• The main solvers (UP) shall deliver all documentation (including all attachments) in the final printed form for the NAKI III project proposal at DPS by April 19, 2022. It will be sent by bulk mail for the entire university. The co-solvers (UP) should agree with the main solver (other organizations) on the submission of a proposal to the Ministry of Culture.
• Submission of queries to the Ministry of Culture: Queries about the public tender can only be submitted in writing using the form and delivered by April 8, 2022 to the address marketa.hovorkova@mkcr.cz; the question and the answer to it will be published on the provider's website. The forms are part of the tender documentation. Queries can be submitted to the Ministry by e-mail individually or through the faculty’s Department of Project Support.
• Gender Equality Planat Palacký University Olomouc, which sets specific goals and measures for the period 2022–2023 aimed at systematically addressing gender equality at UP. Awarding the Palacký University Olomouc with Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)/ HR Award.

TA CR – new website RESEARCHIN.CZ offers job positions and support for researchers from Ukraine

TA CR informs about the newly launched online platform RESEARCHIN.CZ, which was created to help Ukrainian researchers who are now fleeing the war and looking for work in their field in the Czech Republic. More on the faculty’s DPS website (in Czech).

End of provisional budget: new contracts being signed

Due to the approval of the state budget for 2022, the providers started concluding new contracts on the provision of support and the payment of  remaining amount of financial support to the implemented projects for this year. Interreg EUROPE (1st call)

The 1st call will be open from April 5, 2022 to May 31, 2022. The faculty deadline is May 20, 2022. More information can be found on the website of Interreg EUROPE or faculty’s website on projects or contact Ing. Tea Pokorná (tea.pokorna@upol.cz).

Visegrad funds

DZS – One-month scholarship of the AKTION CR – Austria program

University teachers from public universities can apply for one-month research/lecture scholarships. The monthly amount of the scholarship was increased to 1,250 EUR.

VINCI Dive into Science – Interdisciplinary International Silesian Summer School

The Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Silesia invites all interested and talented students to enrol in the intensive VINCI Dive into Science – Interdisciplinary International Silesian Summer School. The recruitment process has just started. The application form will be open till April 18, 2022. The Summer School programme offers basic and advanced physics, chemistry, computer science, and materials engineering courses. During the Summer School, students will attend a series of lectures specially prepared for them. Moreover, the school gives a unique opportunity to join in the day-to-day work of research teams participating in experiments at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Silesia. The courses on Polish culture at the School of Polish Language and Culture and two excursions are also part of the programme. Students are required to prepare a short report (presentation) on their work at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Silesia, which should be presented at the end of their stay during the closing seminar. Each of the 40 participants of the School will receive a scholarship of PLN 5,000. For further information, please visit our website and read our promotional folder.

Window into Practice

Connect students with future employers is the purpose of the 15th 'Window into Practice' event, which will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Faculty of Science. Employers will offer internships, stays, part-time jobs, permanent jobs or consultations at the event. Students will have the opportunity to personally introduce themselves to the HR managers of individual companies, give them their CVs or discuss working conditions. The program will include thematically focused moderated discussions and also lectures, workshops, interviews or an interesting competition. Details can be found at www.oknodopraxe.upol.cz (in Czech). Pamper Your Nature!

The Dean of the Faculty of Science announced the ninth Pamper Your Nature competition to support student projects to promote and improve the environment at the faculty. A full-time Bachelor, Master or Doctoral students at the Faculty of Science UP can participate in the competition. The prize is up to CZK 10,000! All projects must be finished and the final report submitted by June 10, 2022. Detailed conditions of the competition can be found here (in Czech).

Student Scientific Competition – Dean's Award

All students of the Faculty of Science in the sections Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Ecology, Earth Sciences and Didactics of Science can compete for extraordinary scholarships and valuable prizes. It is also possible to enrol in the poster section. The competition takes place on May 5, 2022, you can register until May 1 on this website, where you will also find detailed information about the competition (in Czech).

Erasmus+ in the winter semester 2022/2023

Information on the possibilities of Erasmus + study stays for the upcoming winter semester 2022/2023 can be found on this website (in Czech). We remind you that all student mobility must be reported in advance to Mrs. Dana Gronychová by e-mail: dana.gronychova@upol.cz. Otherwise, the trip will not be recorded in the STAG system and will not be displayed on the Diploma Supplement.

Competition for a student delegate of the Council of Higher Education Institutions

The Academic Senate of Palacký University announces a competition for a new student delegate to the Council of Higher Education Institutions. If you are studying, academic events are close to you and you have good communication skills, it can be you. Send a motivational letter and a structured CV to e-mail: skas@upol.cz by April 8, 2022.

New website for doctoral students

A new university-wide website for doctoral students has been launched these days, which will include clear useful information on foreign calls or opportunities for further education, as well as information on UP science centers and student associations. The website also provides answers to the most common questions related to doctoral life, such as recognition of parenthood or study interruptions. If you do not know how to deal with your problem, you can find contacts for various types of counseling on the doctoral website.

Material aid for Chernivtsi University

Palacký University, together with Olomouc Charity and the Chamber of Commerce of Olomouc District, is organizing a collection of material aid until April 8, 2022. The collection point is the Contact Point of the UP Volunteer Center in the courtyard of the Armory in the premises of the UP Student’s Clubroom (on weekdays from 8:00 to 14:00). From dozens of items, the organizers of the event decided to choose mainly those that they believe the donors could own and lack, or those that are easy to buy. Details can be found here (in Czech).

Faculty for Ukraine

The material collection Faculty for Ukraine at the Faculty of Science continues. You can still donate dressings, first aid kits, military tourniquets/tactical medical tourniquets, warm clothes, men’s shoes, sleeping bags, mats, toiletries or durable food. You can leave your material donation at the gatehouse of the main building of the Faculty of Science or at the gatehouse in the Holice campus. It is possible to donate "Unišek" vouchers, for which the organizers will ensure the purchase of things for Ukraine. More information about the collection can be found on this website. Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science is open again. At present, a number of interesting spring geophytes bloom in it, which you can admire throughout April from 8:00 to 16:00. More on this website (in Czech).
