Entering results into the OBD

The deadline for entering results for 2023 into the OBD database is 15 February by 24:00. Results entered later will not be taken into account in the faculty's 2024 budget allocation. Please upload the results on an ongoing basis so that they can be continuously checked and, if necessary, returned for correction. We also ask for careful and complete reporting of individual results (e.g. surnames of Czech co-authors should be given with diacritics together with first names, reference to the full text of the article and not just the abstract, etc.), as the records subsequently transferred to RIV are the calling card of our faculty.

Partial and final reports in 2024

Forms for partial (financial), interim (professional) and final (professional) reports have been made available in the GRIS grant submission and management application.

Deadline for submission of partial report: 16. January 2024; faculty deadline: 10. January 2024
Deadline for submission of final reports: 31. January 2024; faculty deadline: 25. January 2024

Deadline for submission of partial financial, interim professional and final reports for the EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR projects: 31. January 2024; faculty deadline: 25. January 2024

For projects with an extended duration until 30 June 2024 due to COVID-19, the final report will be submitted no later than the date set by the GA CR and published in 4th quarter of 2024. For 2023, a partial report will be submitted no later than 16 January 2024.

To meet the conditions set by the provider, please adhere to the set deadlines. Before submitting the reports, it is necessary to deliver to the DPS (Mgr. Ľubica Korcanová) the Project Monitoring Report Signature Form (Formulář o podpis Monitorovací zprávy k projektu) signed by the project investigator and the head of department and the partial/final report in the format with the name that was generated from the GRIS application. The file containing the partial or final report should retain the name that was generated when converted to PDF and also check the unique key for pairing in GRIS.

Before submitting the reports, it is necessary to deliver to the DPS (Mgr. Ľubica Korcanová) the Project Monitoring Report Signature Form (Formulář o podpis Monitorovací zprávy k projektu) signed by the project investigator and the head of department and the partial/final report.

Junior grants

Submission of the partial report for the 3rd year of the UPOL Junior Grants 2023-2025 (according to the internal standard R-B-22/10-ÚZ02, Article 7):

- max. 5 pages including figures
- information on the project solution
- project results/outcomes achieved
- overview of the funds spent
- plan for the following year (including the bidget spending plan)

Please, use this form. Please, check the funds used in the last year.

Deadline for submission of the report to DPS: 15. January 2024.

No later than one month after receiving the partial report, an Evaluation Committee will take place, on the basis of which the project will be recommended for funding for the next calendar year.

IGA

Deadline for submitting project proposals wih the start of solution in March 2024: 16. January 2024 (16:00).
Deadline for submitting the report for once-year projects: 15. March 2024; faculty deadline: 11. March 2024.

The final reports will be assessed by a public opposition, which will take place at the Faculty of Science until 22 March 2024.

Call for submission of Luxembourg-Czech projects

GA CR is launching a call for projects based on the Lead Agency evaluation principle with an expected start date in 2025. The call concerns projects funded in cooperation with the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) under the Weave initiative. In this call, the Luxembourg FNR acts as Lead Agency, i.e. evaluates the project proposals scientifically, and the GA CR takes over the results of the evaluation process.

Application

The competition period began on 3 January 2024. The Czech part of the application can be submitted until 24 April 2024 at the latest, i.e. 7 days after the official deadline set by the FNR for Luxembourg applicants on 17 April 2024.

Please note that in the GRIS project proposal application you need to set up a project in the call Lead Agency - Partner Organization - 2025 - FNR (Luxembourg).

The affidavit/declaration of eligibility to compete for 2024 will be provided on behalf of Palacký University Olomouc.
Project proposals have to be entirely in English unless stated otherwise.

Faculty deadline for submission of proposals to be sent via databox: 19. April 2024.
For the project administration is is necessary to deliver the original green request form "košilka" and the project proposal (or draft or Brief project information) to DPS – Mgr. Ľubica Korcanová (lubica.korcanova@upol.cz).

Please note the change in the formation of the social fund, which is formed at 1% as of 1 January 2024. Please take this rate into account when planning the personnel costs in the project proposal.

TA ČR – Important dates in 2024

Deadline for partial reports for 2023: 30. January 2024

Deadline for final reports: no later than 30 calendar days from the date of project completion (to be sent on a continuous basis).

Reports on implementation of results by 31 July 2024. Applicable to all programmes (except programme Beta).
Reports are processed in the ISTA system. Instructions on completing are available in ISTA after logging in.

Confirmation of submissions will be sent via the UP OL databox. In order to send everything properly and on time, please deliver your documents to silvie.savrnakova@upol.cz no later than: 24 January 2024 – applies to partial reports. Principal Investigators are requested to supply a signed yellow request form "košilka" (report) for approval by the faculty management.

Registration for courses – summer semester 2023/2024

The registration for courses in the summer semester of the academic year 2023/2024 for all study programmes at the Faculty of Science takes place from 23 January to 19 February 2024. Detailed schedule is available, as usual, on the website.

You can print your confirmation of study online directly from your Portal.

State doctoral examination and dissertation defense

The application for your dissertation defense or the state doctoral examination has to be submitted at least 3 months in advance. Follow the requirements and deadlines listed on the website in the section for Doctoral Study.

Foreign prospective students

The English faculty website for prospective student has been updated. If you have a prospective PhD student in English who has already agreed on a topic with the department, you can refer him/her to this website for further information on the application process.

Fort Science – science clubs

Bird winter

It is not only throughout January that you can look into the fascinating bird kingdom! Together with experienced zoologist Evžen Tošenovský, you can count them at the feeder, recognize them by their specific features or talk about them. The dates are 19 January, 2 February and 1 March 2024 from 11:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 16:00. You are also invited to the Bird Winter exhibit, which officially opened on 6 January on the ground floor of the Fort Science.

Donate Blood with the Rector

As part of UP Academic Week, the annual Donate Blood with the Rector challenge will take place on 19 – 23 February 2024. This campaign aims to encourage and promote voluntary blood donation. During the week-long event, we are calling on all students and employees of the University to register in our system and come and donate the most precious asset – their blood. Especially warmly are welcome thr first-time donors! All UP donors can look forward to a small gift package from their alma mater this week. More information here.

Don't miss the Ball of the UP Faculty of Science and enjoy special moments with your loved ones, friends and colleagues. The Ball will take place on Friday, 22 March 2024 in the faculty premises. The opening ceremony of the Ball is scheduled for 8 p.m. (the building will be open from 7 p.m.).
