Public lighting in Olomouc - Holice

This year, the Maintenance Services of the Faculty of Science in Holice campus finished a complete modernization of public lighting throughout the entire campus premises, where more than fifty columns with public lighting fixtures have been installed.

The old sodium lamps were gradually replaced with modern and efficient LED lamps. These lamps from the manufacturer Elektro-Lumen will not only reduce electricity consumption by more than 2/3, but also bring additional benefits such as reduction of light smog thanks to special reflector design (certification "Dark sky approved"), and reduction of light intensity by 50% between 22:00 and 04:00.

Another great benefit is the suppression of blue light on main roads and the complete filtering of blue light thanks to the Amber LED light chip on the lamps in the park with a very interesting biotope with a pond and rich fauna, where blue light after dark is completely undesirable.
