Odborné aktivity:
Zabývám se studiem genetické diverzity a molekulární fylogeneze rodu Pisum v kontextu Vicieae. Rozsáhlost analýz, umožnila náhled na evoluci kulturního hrachu a fylogenetické vztahy v rámci podčeledi Fabeae. Pracujeme na revizi systematického členění rodu Pisum, se zřetelem na příbuzné rody Lathyrus, Vicia, Lens a zvláště monotypický druh Vavilovia formosa. Poznatky získané studium planých druhů a forem hrachu (Pisum sativum subsp. elatius, Pisum fulvum) jsou využívány pro získání souboru introgresních, molekulárně charakterizovaných liní hrachu, umožňující využití jak pro základní výzkum (identifikaci genů podmiňujících vybrané znaky) tak i praktické využití ve šlechtění. Zabývám se rovněž otázkou genetických aspektů domestikačního procesu u rostlin, a identifikací vybraných genů podmiňujících domestikaci bobovitých (pukavost lusku, dormanci semen).
