Dean Mihye Lee and Dean Martin Kubala signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Korea University College of Science Seoul and the UP Faculty of Science (UP FS) on 6 February. The Korean side expressed interest in cooperation mainly in the fields of atmospheric, physical and material chemistry, quantum optics, and mathematics.
UP FS has gained the attention of foreign partners thanks to its excellent reputation, especially in the field of quantum optics. “Based on a recommendation, we wanted to establish cooperation with your faculty, which is respected by our foreign colleagues, for example, in quantum optics. We would like to start cooperation with exchange stays for students of Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral study programmes,” said Dean Mihye Lee.
After signing the memorandum, the Korean delegation met with the heads of UP FS departments, who introduced them to their teaching and research activities, and discussed the possibilities of future scientific cooperation. “Subsequently, they visited selected laboratories of the Faculty of Science and appreciated their advanced equipment,” added Miloslav Dušek, Vice Dean for International Relations.
