The end of the semester was celebrated in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere by employees, doctoral students, and former employees of the Faculty of Science at the traditional Post-Semester Gathering (PosPos). The informal social event included grilled delicacies, fruit salad, cakes and, musical performances by faculty members.
The meeting was opened by Ota Blahoušek, Vice-Dean for External Relations, who welcomed everyone, thanked the employees for their work throughout the year, and wished them a nice and peaceful summer holiday.
Marie Chodorová from the Department of Algebra and Geometry also participated in the gathering. “I am glad that after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, we could meet again and have fun with friends,” she said. The return to the good old days was also welcomed by Milan Veselý, Head of the Zoology Department. “At PosPos I have a chance to see colleagues I don’t meet at all during the semester. It‘s very pleasant. A big bonus is that I can also manage a lot of work-related matters here.”
As in previous years, there was good food and refreshments. “Organizing this event is difficult, but according to the feedback, it was a success. More than 120 kg of grilled meat and sausages, and two thousand bite-sized cakes were eaten,” added Věra Holišová from Building Management.
The musical accompaniment was provided by the employees of the Faculty of Science, consisting of Tomáš Opatrný, Ondřej Bábek, Josef Molnár, Roman Kubínek, Luděk Bartoněk, Jiří Kvita, Jan Švec and Emil Tkadlec. “I enjoyed playing with all my colleagues, it’s a nice change after the whole semester. I’m glad that we have so many enthusiastic musicians at the faculty, and that so many colleagues gathered at PosPos,” said Ondřej Bábek, Vice-Dean for Doctoral Studies, with a smile.
